Category: 74HC

The 74HC (High-Speed CMOS) IC series is a family of logic chips known for combining the low-power characteristics of CMOS technology with the speed of traditional TTL logic. These devices operate over a wide supply-voltage range—typically 2 V to 6 V—while offering fast switching times, high noise immunity, and very low power consumption compared to older logic families. They are pin- and function-compatible with the classic 74LS series, making them easy drop-in replacements in many designs, but with significantly improved performance. Because of their versatility, speed, and efficiency, 74HC chips are widely used in modern digital electronics for tasks like buffering, decoding, timing, and general logic control.
